Sonos Beam vs Samsung HW-N950

Sonos Beam review

When testing Sonos Beam vs Samsung HW-N950 I noticed that the Sonos Beam sound is clear and especially crisp when playing speech. The compact soundbar plays full-bodied high and medium frequencies, and can work at high volume without distorting the sound. However, bass lovers will be disappointed, since the low frequencies here are obtained, although tangible, but not saturated. But to watch TV, this is a cause for criticism - and your neighbors will say thanks for the lack of powerful bass. There are 3.0 built-in channels. Sonos Beam

Samsung HW-N950 review

I tested Samsung HW-N950 vs Sonos Beam and here is what I think. Soundbar Samsung HW-N950 is equipped with 17 speakers, including two additional, which direct the sound up and to both sides of the listener, creating the effect of complete immersion. The soundbar also has wireless rear speakers and a subwoofer for 7.1.4 sound. A single control panel is suitable for both the TV and the speaker system, and you can connect the soundbar to your home wireless network and control the sound through the SmartThings application. On top of this this model has the power of 512W and 7.1.4 built-in channels. Samsung HW-N950

Sonos Beam pros & cons

Pros

  • The Sonos app walks you through the entire process and it took just a few minutes before it was connected and working
  • A subwoofer isn't needed. Of course you can always add the wireless Sonos subwoofer if you really crave that earth-shaking bass, but I think for most people the bar alone produces enough bass for music and movies

Cons

  • You can't simply connect two Sonos One speakers to your HDTV

Samsung HW-N950 pros & cons

Pros

  • Setup was easy and I didn’t run into issues syncing the rear surround speakers to the soundbar
  • Dialogue/speech are crystal clear

Cons

  • I wish some type of demo mode or sound setup was included to highlight the features
