Sony HT-Z9F vs Samsung HW-N950 review

Samsung HW-N950 vs Sony HT-Z9F

Samsung HW-N950 review

When comparing Samsung HW-N950 vs Sony Z9F it should be noted that the flagship novelty with deep surround sound and stylish design will be the perfect complement for Samsung 4K TVs and will provide a more vivid and realistic viewing experience. Model HW-N950 was released as part of the first major collaboration of Samsung and Harman Kardon in the premium segment of soundbars. The companies managed to create a device with rich surround sound and with support for DTS: X and Dolby Atmos formats. On top of this this model has the power of 512W and 7.1.4 built-in channels. Sony HT-Z9F review

Concerning Sony Z9F vs Samsung HW-N950, I watched some movies using this soundbar and can say that the sound of each scene was spacious and open, making it possible to hear small details in the mix. But even if you don’t have Atmos or DTS: X content, the soundbar will also have the ability to “add up” mixing normal surround sound into 7.1.2. Again, the effect was not as good as if it were with Atmos native content, but processing with improved mixing did a reasonable job of improving the sound, making the track we were listening feel more open in the process. Its power is 400W and it features 3.1 built-in channels. Sony HT-Z9F

Samsung HW-N950 pros & cons

Pros

  • Setup was easy and I didn’t run into issues syncing the rear surround speakers to the soundbar
  • It is powerful enough to rattle your windows but so clear that you're able to hear whispers in quiet scene
  • The sound bar is able to get loud even on low settings especially at night

Cons

  • I wish some type of demo mode or sound setup was included to highlight the features

Sony Z9F pros & cons

Pros

  • Setup is fairly straightforward but did require a few visits to the manual
  • Listening to live recordings feels like you are at the show
  • The level of immersion in these speakers is completely magical

Cons

  • If you have a smart TV and use its smart features, you still need to maintain two remotes
