Yamaha RX-V485 review

The 5.1-channel amplifier on board can provide power when loading one channel at 165 W (at 8 Ohms). The AV receiver is equipped with fully discrete power amplifiers to minimize distortion and use independent clean power sources for analog and digital circuits. The receiver is equipped with 384 kHz / 32-bit premium DACs - also with independent power supplies - for reproducing without noise absolutely all audio signals from high-resolution sources. To control the volume, a new high-quality IC with high sound quality is used, and large radiators suppress vibration. Any detail of these AV-receivers is focused exclusively on the highest possible sound quality. Yamaha RX-V485

Yamaha RX-V485 pros & cons

Pros

  • It doesn’t sound good at all - but much better
  • A good set of streaming functions and the ability to easily connect wireless rear speakers are additional advantages of this model

Cons

  • I wish output power was bigger
  • The AV receiver has only four HDMI inputs and is not compatible with Google Chromecast and Dolby Atmos

Denon AVR-X1500H pros & cons

Pros

  • Sound is crystal clear and has plenty of power
  • Unit does not run hot at all, even in a theater cabinet
  • Build quality is great, it's a heavy unit

Cons

  • The on-screen interface is ugly. It looks like some sort of retro 90s DOS text interface with huge block letters and no graphics
