What if we take a look at Marantz NR1609 vs Marantz NR1200? These units are 7.2 and 2.0-channelled. Their RMS is 50/8 and 75/8 W/Ohm respectively. The Marantz NR1609 has a low body and provides full three-dimensional sound thanks to the support of the DTS:X and Dolby Atmos formats in 5.1.2-channel configuration. The model works with the DTS Virtual:X format, which allows you to create an imitation of the sound of ceiling speakers in ordinary surround sound systems that are not equipped with specialized speakers. 
Marantz NR1200 review
The Marantz NR1200 model uses an 8-channel AK4458 microchip in differential switching, that is, in fact, two DACs are involved in each channel of the stereo receiver. This solution allowed us to obtain the best signal to noise ratio, reduce distortion and expand the dynamic range of sound. Marantz NR1200 is made in a case that is two times lower than that of AV devices, which simplifies its placement in the home system. At the same time, the device has a recognizable corporate identity, and its design is highly reliable. Marantz NR1200 is built according to the classical scheme of integrated amplifiers. 
Marantz NR1609 pros & cons
Pros
- My second channel connects to outdoor speakers which I can now control from my phone using the HEOS or Marantz app. This is very handy not to have to go back inside to change the music, volume, etc
- Helpful manual unlike ones in other brands’ models
Cons
- Only complaint is that the menu pops up when you turn a device on and you have to use the remote to select the input which is already selected
