Onkyo TX-8140 review

Despite the fact that both models has 2.0 channel configuration we can’t say that they are similar. The power output of Onkyo almost two times higher than Pioneer’s: 80/8 vs 45/8 W/Ohm. Onkyo TX-8140 is universal in terms of reproducible audio formats. It supports standard low-resolution MP3 audio files and Spotify streams, 192kHz / 24-bit FLAC and WAV Hi-Res files. However, using a Wi-Fi connection, users are limited in playing high-resolution audio up to 88.2kHz / 24-bit and DSD tracks. It is worth mentioning that receiver does not have HDMI connectors, therefore, only the basis for an audio system can be used. Onkyo TX-8140

Pioneer SX-10AE review

The SX-10AE has four analog RCA inputs, a preamplifier / subwoofer output, and one line output (RCA). According to the manufacturer, exclusively high-quality components are involved in the circuits, which made it possible to achieve the absence of distortions. The receiver supports almost all current audio file formats, including Hi-Res. There is Bluetooth for connecting mobile devices, and in terms of the multi-room platform, there is a native FireConnect, as well as DTS Play-Fi and Chromecast. Pioneer SX-10AE
