Marantz NR1509 vs Marantz NR1508

Marantz NR1509 review

The 5.2-channel Marantz NR1509 model is assembled in a low-profile body. It has the amplifier with a power of 50 W/channel, but in comparison Marantz NR1509 vs Marantz NR1508, it has the lower impedance - only 4 Ohm against 8 Ohm. The device supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoders for high-resolution multi-channel sound. The receiver can be used as a network player and playback Hi-Res files. Audyssey MultEQ system, supplemented by Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume technology, helps to calibrate any speaker configuration. A presence of 6 HDMI inputs guarantees support for 4K/60Hz and video standards with Dolby Vision and high dynamic range HDR10.

Marantz NR1508 review

The NR1508 is an entry-level receiver that only has 50 W/channel in 5.1 mode. Along with support for 4K HDR on 6 HDMI ports, it is also one of the first budget receivers to include HEOS multi-room system. It generates a nice clean sound. However, the Marantz NR1508 versus NR1509 has the HDMI video scaling what allows the receiver to work with any display resolution. The device also has Airplay and Bluetooth support, and an ability to work with external USBs. The receiver is tuned by the Audyssey MultEQ room correction system and the calibration microphone.
