Sonos Playbar vs Denon HEOS BAR review

Sonos Playbar vs Denon HEOS BAR

Sonos Playbar review

Its output power is 200W. There are 3.0 built-in channels. Sonos Playbar is a carefully designed soundbar with best-in-class music software. The panel is easy to install and easily compatible with other Sonos products, and can also be used as part of a full-fledged 5.1 wireless audio system if you add a Sonos Sub subwoofer and two Play:3 speakers. But the Playbar itself creates an excellent virtual surround effect - you can imagine that the room has more speakers than it actually is. Sonos Playbar

Denon HEOS BAR review

The 3.0-channel Denon HEOS Bar is ready to work with new AV-technology and is equipped with four HDMI-inputs standard 2.0 (compatible with 4K UHD) and support for HDCP 2.2. Thus, the use of the soundbar will significantly expand the switching capabilities of the existing TV, providing the connection of a larger number of sources of 4K-signal. For accurate multi-channel audio processing, the Denon HEOS Bar is equipped with Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoders. You can use Ethernet or Wi-Fi to connect to a HEOS network, and the soundbar also has a Bluetooth receiver on board. To connect analog signal sources, a linear input is provided on the mini-jack connector. Denon HEOS BAR

Sonos Playbar pros & cons

Pros

  • It sounds like true 5.1 system, but adding two more speakers can't hurt
  • I had no problem setting up the Playbar to the Alexa/echo system
  • Good sound quality in various usage scenarios

Cons

  • The Playbar only has optical audio in, so it gets complicated when you have more than one device that you want to use with this speaker

Denon HEOS BAR pros & cons

Pros

  • Amazing treble and base. You have the ability to adjust both independently on all speakers
  • The app also allows you to save presets for volume and equalizer settings

Cons

  • It was dropping off my network. It also was losing wireless connection with the sub and rear channels
