Features

The 3.0-channel unit is able to raise the sound quality of even TVs with a high-quality audio system to a new level, significantly increasing the degree of involvement of viewers in what is happening on the screen. And in addition, it can become part of the multi-room HEOS audio system with convenient control via a mobile application and provide access to various online services, as well as collections of music files on network devices. For accurate multi-channel audio processing, the Denon HEOS Bar is equipped with Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoders.

Design and build

The Denon HEOS Bar soundbar has a three-channel configuration with separate front stereo and center speakers. Each channel has two oval woofers and a tweeter connected to separate amplifiers to get the most saturated sound. This provides a more accurate linking of dialogs to the screen, as well as their articulated and natural reproduction. The speaker system also provides a virtual surround sound mode, however, if desired, you can connect HEOS wireless speakers as rear speakers and a HEOS Sub subwoofer to it. This will allow you to create a real 5.1 home theater system, very convenient for placement in a living space and not taking up much space.

Connectivity

Denon HEOS Bar is ready to work with new AV-technology and is equipped with four HDMI-inputs standard 2.0 (compatible with 4K UHD) and support for HDCP 2.2. Thus, the use of the soundbar will significantly expand the switching capabilities of the existing TV, providing the connection of a larger number of sources of 4K-signal. To connect analog signal sources, a linear input is provided on the mini-jack connector.

Setup

Simply connect the HEOS Bar to the TV output via the HDMI port using Audio Return Channel (ARC) technology. Sound control is possible both through the free HEOS App for smartphone and from the TV remote control.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Amazing treble and base. You have the ability to adjust both independently on all speakers
  • The app also allows you to save presets for volume and equalizer settings

Cons

  • It was dropping off my network. It also was losing wireless connection with the sub and rear channels
