Samsung HW-Q90R vs Sonos Playbar review

Sonos Playbar vs Samsung HW-Q90R

Sonos Playbar review

Due to the unique design of the Playbar, the panel looks flat, both on a horizontal surface and on the wall. This is a tricky trick that allows the Playbar to maintain a slim profile in any configuration, while other soundbars are usually either too high on the surface or too protruding when mounted on the wall. An internal sensor detects the position of the panel and automatically adjusts its performance (less wall-mounted bass is required for wall mounting). There is even a second remote control sensor on the panel, the placement of which is optimized for a wall-mounted use case. Its output power is 200W. There are 3.0 built-in channels. Sonos Playbar

Samsung HW-Q90R review

Soundbar Samsung HW-Q90R does not have a calibration function “on board”. Moreover, the soundbar supports Atmos in the 7.1.4 sound scheme. It requires a separate setup. The plus is that Samsung provides the necessary settings so that you can manually optimize the sound system. An elegant narrow remote control is supplied with the soundbar. It is beautiful, well thought out and lies comfortably in hand. The soundbar display is minimalistic. Only when you press the button on the remote control can you see where the HW-Q90R display is. The model has the power of 512W and 7.1.4 built-in channels. Samsung HW-Q90R

Sonos Playbar pros & cons

Pros

  • It sounds like true 5.1 system, but adding two more speakers can't hurt
  • I had no problem setting up the Playbar to the Alexa/echo system
  • Good sound quality in various usage scenarios

Cons

  • The Playbar only has optical audio in, so it gets complicated when you have more than one device that you want to use with this speaker

Samsung HW-Q90R pros & cons

Pros

  • Separate rear speakers, speakers up
  • Thanks to tuning from the Harman Kardon HW-Q90R even sounds good with music

Cons

  • The optimal placement of the rear speakers requires selection
  • Limited audio streaming capabilities
