Onkyo TX-NR686 review
Like other Onkyo receivers, the TX-NR686 is THX Select certified. The 7-channel receiver is equipped with amplifiers made using Dynamic Audio Amplification technology. The Onkyo TX-NR686 audio decoder also supports all existing surround and surround sound recording formats, and can also process multi-channel tracks using DTS Neural: X and Dolby Surround processors. The Onkyo TX-NR686 uses the AccuEQ auto-calibration system with AccuReflex extension. In comparison with the Pioneer VSX-933, the TX-NR686 has support for connecting speakers in the second zone, which makes it possible to combine different sound sources.

The Pioneer VSX-933 can deliver 80 W/channel which is not so much in the Onkyo TX-NR686 vs Pioneer VSX-933 review compared to the TX-NR686, where the amplifier has a power of 160 W/channel. The VSX-933 works great with both DTS: X and Dolby Atmos. Pioneer has its own MCACC system for automatic calibration. Thanks to it, it is possible to control the phase characteristics of the corrected signal with the Phase Control function. The device supports all relevant wireless protocols, as well as protocols that work with WiFi DTS Play-Fi and FlareConnect. It also works great with Chromecast, AirPlay, and Deezer.
