Denon AVR-X2300W vs Onkyo TX-NR686

Denon AVR-X2300W review

The power of this 7.2-channel model is 95W (8 Ohms). Denon does not save on connections: there are eight HDMI connectors, they all support 4K pass-through at 60 Hz and are HDCP 2.2 certified. A decent range of optical digital and analog stereo inputs is complemented by older analog video inputs - composite and component. There is no digital coaxial connector; not that we needed him, but we cannot but mention this. Everything else in this receiver in place - to the envy of anyone else. It is capable of decoding all existing Dolby and DTS sound formats, including Dolby Atmos 5.1.2 encoded. Support for DTS:X will be added in the next firmware, which is expected this year. Onkyo TX-NR686 pros & cons

Pros

  • The graphical on-screen setup instructions look very neat, pretty eye candy
  • The android app works just great. I didn't experience any trouble. It is faster and more functional than the app on the NR535

Cons

  • Was disappointed to find out the “built in chromecast” is audio only. Doesn’t ruin the whole receiver for me, but i feel it should have been stated in the description
