Denon AVR-X4500H Review and Specs

Denon AVR-X4500HAlmost every modern high-end AV receiver with a selective audio product is a design with nine terminal amplifiers. It would seem, why so much, even if home theater fans rarely use more than seven channels in their systems. But I found the most worthy application for such an arsenal in this Denon AVR-X4500H review where you can additionally see other Denon AVR-X4500H specs.

Features

The Denon AVR-X4500H AV receiver has a 9-channel configuration and is equipped with all the latest audio / video technologies. The device develops a rated output power of 120 W with a load resistance of 8 Ohms and is based on proprietary 32-bit technology D.D.S.C. HD Digital. AL32 multi-channel processing provides ultra-high resolution digital audio filtering and accuracy for all audio channels, providing a natural soundstage with enhanced visualization.

Design and build

A power transformer with a significant current margin is installed in the power supply unit of the AV receiver. The AV receiver is equipped with decoders for all existing surround sound formats, including Dolby Atmos, DTS: X and Auro 3D. The system configuration based on the Denon AVR-X4500H for playing object-oriented 3D formats can be configured as 7.2.2 or 5.2.4. This is enough to fully sound even a large room. For audio processing, the AV receiver uses a DSP based on four powerful SHARC processors and a proprietary AL32 processor, as well as a DAC on 32-bit AKM AK4458VN chips in all channels.

Connectivity

All eight HDMI inputs of the AV receiver support 4K video transmission (HDR, Dolby Vision, HLG) and HDCP 2.2. In addition, the Denon AVR-X4500H processor can convert video from analog and digital sources to 4K resolution. The AV receiver has three HDMI outputs, which provides significant flexibility in building a home theater system, and also allows you to transfer a signal to an additional zone.

Setup

Audyssey MultEQ XT32 autocalibration system makes it easy to adjust the ambient sound depending on the parameters and placement of acoustics, as well as the characteristics of the room.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Almost everything is customizable by hand, from crossover frequencies for outputting bass to a sub, to various delays depending on the distance of the speakers for the listener
  • It looks more stylish than 4400
  • There are no noise in the speakers when the sound is turned off

Cons

  • I didn’t like auto settings via the microphone neither for cinema, nor even for music
