Comparing Yamaha A-S301 vs Denon PMA-800NE you should look at their power output per channel. Yamaha has 60/8 while Denon boasts 50/8 W/Ohm. Yamaha A-S301 received a fairly strict design. The aluminum case with a massive front panel has a thoughtful passive cooling system and a functional control panel. Large ergonomic controls for volume, balance, timbre and bass contribute to a quick and convenient change in the operating parameters of the device. Also on the front panel are an audio output, a mode switch with yellow indicators and a separate Pure Direct button that activates the shortest path of the signal path. 
Denon PMA-800NE review
The Denon PMA-800NE Integrated Amplifier combines both analog and digital technologies, making it the universal center of a modern stereo system. The device is made in the corporate style of Denon with a thick aluminum front panel, on which all the necessary controls are very conveniently located. Denon PMA-800NE is distinguished by its superior quality workmanship of a premium class and will look great in any AV system. The chassis of the device has a patented vibration isolation with a supporting steel plate 1.6 mm thick to protect electronic circuits from mechanical stress.

Pros
- The device will not be idle for more than 8 hours, it will go into standby mode
- It is possible to turn off the tone, balance and loudness controls (Pure Direct mode)
Cons
- The built-in DAC was a little disappointing: with a high-frequency response it produces a signal with a rather high THD

Pros
- Operationally the amp is really straightforward
- The remote control moves the volume in really fine increments
Cons
- I wish the power cord was detachable so I could use one of my better ones
