Marantz PM8006 vs Rega Brio review

Marantz PM8006 vs Rega Brio

Marantz PM8006 review

The circuitry provides the necessary stability of the amplifier when working with speakers with a complex impedance characteristic. The amplifier volume control is built according to a new scheme to achieve the most smooth and accurate tune of the signal level without audible noise. The Marantz PM8006 power supply is built on the basis of a powerful toroidal transformer with a double screen to completely eliminate interference to sensitive audio circuits. It has a distinctive signature sound with smooth mid frequencies. The power output of these competitors is different: 70W in PM8006 and 58W in Rega Brio, both at 8 Ohms. Marantz PM8006

Rega Brio review

The amplifier is equipped with an input for a vinyl player, four line inputs and an output to the recorder. The built-in RIAA corrector is designed to work with MM type heads; for MC heads, an external matching transformer is needed. Acoustic terminals are universal; they accept bananas, spatulas and bare wire. It sounds soft and sophisticated, the middle register resembles the sound of tube amplifiers - juicy and transparent, without losing a single important musical detail. The top is clear, clean, transistor notes do not appear. The lower case is worked out perfectly. Rega Brio
