Features

Sony updated its fleet of already well-established home theater systems with the new STR-DH790 7.2ch 4K HDR AV receiver. Sony STR-DH790 completely envelops the audience with sound with support for Dolby Atmos and DTS: X. This model with 145W output power at 6 Ohms implements Dolby Atmos and DTS: X technologies, thanks to which when watching a movie it feels like the sound is coming from all sides. Due to this, you can easily imagine that you are in the very center of events.

The STR-DH790 AV receiver has a sophisticated and compact body that can be easily integrated into the design of any home.

Connectivity

There are four HDMI inputs, all supporting all the good stuff you’d expect. According to the specs (Sony rarely skimps on specifications) they support up to 4K and UHD at up to 60Hz, HDR10, Hybrid Log-Gamma and Dolby Vision, 3D, Deep Colour, the BT.2020 colour space, and the all-important HDCP 2.2 copy protection system. There’s a single HDMI output.

Setup

Designed for the average living room, the Sony STR-DH790 simplifies speaker setup with advanced D.C.A.C. (Automatic calibration of digital cinema). Through the use of a microphone with a plug-in module, the Advanced D.C.A.C. calibrator uses a series of test sounds to determine the correct speaker levels based on the detected geometric placement of the speakers and depending on the acoustic properties of the room.
