Recently, I’ve been testing Polk Audio PSW10 vs Polk Audio PSW505 subwoofers. PSW10 model has a 10 inches driver on the front panel with a 50 W nominal and 100 W maximal output power. With a 85 dB sensitivity and 35-200 Hz frequency response range this subwoofer produces exceptionally clear sound. Having an opportunity to test Polk Audio PSW505 vs PSW10 devices I found out that they noticeably differ in nominal-maximal output power range. PSW505 has significant 250-480 Hz and 360 W audio amplifier. Its 12-inch driver produces decent sounding to make movies, music and sports experience thrilling. With 25-160 Hz frequency response this subwoofer provides the room with a high performance impactful sound without any distortion. It can be easily connected to the existing system to upgrade the music sound instantly.

Pros

  • Subwoofer comes with both speaker-level and line-level inputs
  • It has a variable crossover and volume knob
  • Sound quality and wideness of PSW10 brings a thrill of “being there”

Cons

  • A slight disappointment that the package did not include an LFE input
  • For a large room as mine, I felt the need of a second subwoofer
  • On high volumes there was too much distortion in low frequencies

Pros

  • Amazing deep bass for 'beaty' music styles: Hip-hop, D'n'B, EDM etc.
  • Quickly hooks up with audio-systems by other manufacturers

Cons
