Design and build

Six modes of the built-in sound processor (DSP) are designed to improve sound quality or emphasize the necessary accents - intelligibility of dialogs, energy, spatiality - depending on the content. Or, on the contrary, you can turn off all processing by selecting Direct and enjoy the original soundtrack. It is also possible to tighten the sound of recordings in compressed stereo formats to CD-quality using the Advanced Music Optimizer function. For two-channel audio (including Bluetooth broadcasts), there are also options for translating into surround sound using Dolby and DTS codecs. TX-SR373 is equipped with a block of analog amplifiers on discrete elements (5x100 W at 8 Ohms), made according to all Onkyo branded canons.

Connectivity

Four HDMI inputs and one output with support for audio return channel will allow you to connect several of the most modern compatible sources to a TV or projector using one HDMI cable. These interfaces allow 4K Ultra HD video with extended dynamic range (HDR) and content protection via HDCP 2.2 protocol, and Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoders provide full playback of movie soundtracks. Thus, in terms of technology, the TX-SR373 is not far behind the leaders of the Hi-Fi industry.

Setup

For initial installation, this AV receiver has an auto-calibration function with a microphone, and it works quite accurately, although it is not accompanied by a picture on the connected TV - the on-screen menu is alphanumeric and concise. The remote control is lightweight, convenient and intuitive.
