In addition to UHD resolution STR-ZA810ES has 7 channel amplifier and delivers 70 W (8 Ohms) and supports the HDR format, Dolby Atmos and DTS: X surround sound technologies. New products are equipped with D.C.A.C. auto-calibration technology. EX, which uses a stereo microphone and evaluates the sound picture at 31 frequencies, emulating the sound of optimally placed speakers. Phantom Surround Back technology, which is also used in these receivers, creates a seven-channel impression of the five-channel configuration. The receiver can simultaneously play 4K video and multi-channel audio in two different zones. Sony also left a foundation for the future: it is said that the receivers are ready to work with the BT.2020 color scheme.
Design and build
Despite the rather sophisticated design of the top models, and receivers of some other even more exotic brands, in the home theater industry it is customary for the AV receiver to be a black rectangular box with a display crossing its front panel. That is exactly the Sony model, which is very similar to the previous model of the company. On the front panel of this device there is a minimal set of control buttons, and the frontal location of USB and HDMI connectors is very convenient. The receiver has three powerful digital signal processors, which, according to the company, reduce noise and improve sound. For this, new transformers with power sources and “audiophile resistors” are used.
Connectivity
Sony STR-ZA810ES can be connected to internet using ethernet cable or built-in wi-fi adapter. It can also connect to bluetooth devices via built-in bluetooth adapter. The Receiver supports AirPlay. It has 6 HDMI inputs with HDCP 2.2 (6 in / 2 out) copy protection. Front panel has USB input.

There is DCAC EX calibration for custom settings that are good but requires your ears for final adjustment.
