Features

Regarding SVS SB-2000 specs, the model is built on the basis of a 12-inch ventilated driver with an aluminum diffuser and a double magnet in a cast aluminum frame of a patented geometry, which ensures “perfect piston movement”. In each of the subwoofers, a Class D Power Sledge STA-550D amplifier is installed on discrete MOSFETs in the output stage. The manufacturer talks about high currents and more than 1,500 watts of peak power with "incredibly low distortion." The SVS SB-2000 achieves a staggering 19-240 Hz frequency response.

Design and build

The subwoofer SVS SB-2000 is available on the market as a compact cube-shaped device. The beautiful appearance of the device is preserved even when the dust screen is removed. The body of the presented subwoofer model is supported by four miniature legs. Dark coloring gives the device the appearance of a remarkable household appliance. The panel for connecting inputs and outputs is presented at the rear of the device. The SVS SB-2000 black ash subwoofer is capable of playing sound in an extended (unlike the classical) frequency range. A Class D amplifier is built into the device. It is assumed by the manufacturer that the subwoofer will be installed on the floor or sent to the shelf for better sound. This sound dynamite is fast, clear, truly explosive bass in a compact cubic body with a side of 36 cm. To ensure the SB-2000 can play its best long into the future, the driver also features a durable low-creep rubber long-throw surround and integrated tinsel leads to maximize longevity.

Connectivity

You won’t find any speaker-level inputs on the SB-2000’s amplifier, so you can’t use it with older receivers that lack a subwoofer output. It does, however, have stereo line level outputs to go with its stereo line-level input, allowing for use with pre-amp/amp combos and integrated amps outfitted with pre-amp outputs and amplifier inputs.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Vented driver with aluminum diffuser and double magnet in cast aluminum frame
  • Good build quality

Cons

  • Sound volume - this is for rooms up to 400 sq. ft.
