Features

As for the Polk Audio PSW125 specs, the model is equipped with a large 12-inch diameter woofer and a powerful 300-watt amplifier, and is designed to sound large rooms. This model provides controllers for the signal level and input filter, a switch for the absolute phase of the signal, as well as an automatic switching circuit when a signal appears at the input. The Polk Audio PSW 125 is equipped with a 12-inch diameter woofer with a composite diffuser whose electromagnetic system has been optimized by computer simulation for maximum efficiency.

Design and build

The sub is made in a housing made of MDF, which has a high-quality external finish, and, despite its considerable physical dimensions, does not look bulky. This is achieved thanks to the neatly rounded corners of the case, as well as a round protective mesh that hides the speaker on the front panel. The subwoofer is equipped with internal ties that eliminate the vibrations of its walls and is mounted on high conical supports. To increase the return at the lowest frequencies, the bass reflex port is directed down (Floor Coupled Port), and the duct itself has a rounded socket to minimize the sound of the outgoing air flow. The driver’s diffuser unique material, Dynamic Balance technology, together with the case design allows for a cleaner and clearer sound. The PSW Series subwoofers handle bass at high volume easily. They are superior to competitors due to their more durable and resonance-free materials, which react quickly and remain rigid in shape.

Connectivity

Another distinctive feature of the Polk Audio PSW125, as well as other subs of this line, is the ability to connect to all three input options - stereo linear, low-frequency LFE and acoustic. The latter can come in handy when connecting the subwoofer to a conventional stereo integrated amplifier, not equipped with a special output.

Pros and Cons
