This TaoTronics Sound Bar (TT-SK15) review is for those who don’t want to spend the big bucks on a Dolby Atmos-enabled soundbar, it is possible to find cheaper options that still pack an audio punch: enter TaoTronics’ TT-SK019 40 inch sound bar and see TaoTronics Sound Bar (TT-SK15) specs.
One place where TT-SK15 shows some compromises are its features. We find four 10 Watt full range drivers. This is pretty surprising seeing how an extension port is a more or less standard feature in much less expensive models. With that in mind, TaoTronics did include Bluetooth support that allows you to use this soundbar in a wireless mode should you want to. On top of that, there is also the standard remote control. Whether or not the lack of subwoofer extension is important to you might make the TT-SK15 more or less attractive.
The most interesting thing about its design are the controls. Where most brands offer buttons, TaoTronics decided to go with a touch cluster in the middle of the soundbar. While having such features doesn’t add anything to the performance of the soundbar, it makes it look and feel that much better. With that said, the performance is pretty decent, to say the least, but more on that later.
Comes with a remote that requires 2 AAA batteries(not included); It has RCA (red, white and yellow cables), 3.5 mm (headphone jack), optical and I believe coaxial hookups. Also has an aux connection (cables not included).
Setting up the TT-SK019 is super simple, and it will look great placed on the shelf of your TV stand - we would recommend this if your TV isn’t wall-mounted, as placing it directly in front of your TV means the signal from your remote control can be obstructed, with the soundbar itself being quite tall. This will of course vary between different TV models and brands, plus you can wall mount the TT-SK019 if you’re feeling fancy.
